The following list provides a central source for some frequently accessed data tools and information sources, updated with guidance from Comox Valley’s Vital Signs Advisory Network. Contact us to suggest a new source or an updated version.

BC Food Security Gateway. Supports knowledge exchange and collaboration to address food security in BC.
BC Nonprofit Housing Association (Local Snapshots) – Explore regional housing needs assessment and its relationship to home ownership, average household income, building units by type, and population growth.
City of Courtenay Official Community Plan. Bylaw 3070, 2022. The Official Community Plan (OCP) is a tool for Council and citizens to manage change in our community.
Community Information Tool. Province of British Columbia. Compiles over 40 data sets offering insights into regions across B.C. with integrated socio-economic, connectivity and community assets data.
Comox Valley Conservation Partnership. The Comox Valley Conservation Partnership (CVCP) is an alliance of 26 local environmental non-profit organizations, stewardship groups and local residents’ associations and program of the Comox Valley Land Trust. The CVCP took the leadership role in developing the “Nature Without Borders” strategy,
Comox Valley Regional District. The regional district has a wide range of active initiatives and programs that improve quality of life in the Comox Valley.

Dimensions of Poverty Hub. Statistics Canada. “Opportunity for All” introduces a dashboard of 12 indicators to track progress on deep income poverty as well as the aspects of poverty other than income, including indicators of material deprivation, lack of opportunity and resilience.
Early Years Development Instrument. Regional reports with focus by Comox Valley neighbourhood.
Homelessness Count – Comox Valley 2020. BC Housing. Community profiles were created as a result of Homeless Counts conducted in 16 communities across British Columbia in 2020 and 2021.
